March 17, 2009Genuine Doesn't Deserve Punctuation: The Original
I posted up an excerpt from my poem earlier, and now I'm going to post up how the poem originally was. So hopefully you guys will like the whole thing :)
--- we've found ourselves in the same old place flashing each other a familiar face. forgetting to present our forgotten grace, we place ourselves in this dangerous state in which to blame is what we call fate we've got our ups, but gravity's pulling us down. what do you say to hitting downtown? who knows how long we're going to be around, so cheers to us, let's have a shot, and give them a round. the voices tell us stories, while our lips verbalize words to them, which they then turn into lies. honesty has been erased from their eyes and now we've given them one too many tries the devil's got our reservations on hold as we continue to live and keep our story untold. our innoncence was so long ago sold to a man who was in control we'll push each other off of cliffs and watch as we fall farther away from that wall that we built when we were so small just when evil didn't exist at all and when the devil used to call bath yourself in genuine lands where we know that we can do whatever we planned and we'll make ourselves grand and stand with our toes in the sand knowing that we'll always understand when we make ourselves grand. scenes make their way into frames because we aren't here for the fame or the shame or to claim what's rightfully ours. it's always the same, the same name, the same game, the same blame. the present gets scarred from the reflection on the glass revealing the outcome of the past and how we passed our lives so fast now here we bury our lies as we look up into the sky and deny all of the goodbyes and replies and look into each others eyes and we both imply... i've found myself in the same old place flashing you this same old face forgetting to present my forgotten grace, i've placed myself in this dangerous state in which i can only thank what i call fate

weve found ourselves in the same old place
flashing each other a familiar face forgetting to present our forgotten grace we place ourselves in this dangerous state in which to blame is what we call fate the voices tell us stories while our lips verbalize words to them which they then turn into lies honesty has been erased from their eyes and now weve given them one too many tries bath yourself in genuine lands where we know that we can do whatever we planned and we'll make ourselves grand and stand with our toes in the sand knowing that we'll always understand when we make ourselves grand now here we bury our lies as we look up into the sky and deny all of the goodbyes and replies and look into each others eyes and we both imply... I've found myself in the same old place, Flashing you this same old face. Forgetting to present my forgotten grace, I've placed myself in this dangerous state In which I can only thank what I call fate. PS.
